2010 ENTRY FORM

The 28th Annual Roskruge Softball Tournament will be held May 15 and 22, 2010 at Cherry Field. The tournament is for players in fifth-grade and below. If there is enough interest, we will also have a division for sixth-grade and below.

If you would like to enter a team in this year’s tournament, you must return the form below. The entry fee remains $60 per team. Keep in mind that you can use tax credit money to pay the entry fee. TUSD Schools: Send all requests for the use of tax credit money to the Student Finance Office as soon as possible. If you use sponsor or personal funds, please make checks payable to Roskruge.

All entry forms must be at Roskruge by Friday, May 7.

General instructions:
1) $60 per team entry fee will be charged.
One team per school.
2) Trophies will be awarded to first-, second, third-, fourth-, and fifth-place teams.
3) Please bring water.
USSSA rules will apply except:
A) 11” softballs will be used. Bases will be 60 feet apart. The pitcher’s rubber will be 40 feet from home plate.
B) Games will be seven innings with a ten run rule after five innings.
No limit on number of runs scored each inning. No innings can start 1:05 after the start. No minimum number of innings are required.
C) Teams must bat 10 players. Teams may still play with 8 or 9, however, in that situation it is an automatic out every time the 9 and/or 10 spot comes up in the order.
D) Home team will be determined by a coin flip before each game.
E) It is recommended that batters and runners wear helmets.
All catchers are required to wear a mask.
F) Please exchange line-ups with opposing coach before
each game.
G) No jewelry. No exceptions. Please ask players to leave their jewelry at home.

All teams will play one game on May 9 and two games on May 16.

Pool standings will be determined by Won-lost record If there is a three-way tie, a drawing will determine pool places.

Pool #1’s will advance to semi-finals on May 19. A drawing of Pool #2’s will determine wild-card team in semi-finals. And a drawing of the #1’s will determine May 19 opponents.
Remaining teams will be seeded for May 19 games. May 19 schedule will be announced May 13.
